Legacy: Family Ties
Legacy Family update! Wow, actually getting TWO updates done in one night. I'm on a roll! XD Finally, I know. I wanted to get one up sooner, but when I started to go through I only had a couple of pictures. So I took a few more.. enough for a decent update, anyway. I wanted to get one last update out before Pets arrives.. my next updates won't be until I have that expansion in my hot little hands. I am SO EXICTED for Pets! But.. on to the update.
You'll recall that the original G13 heir - Cecily - went all glitchy on me. I moved her into the lot next door with her husband, Marcel. Since Cecily was supposed to have been a Family sim (she's stuck with the Grow Up aspiration, though) I was going to let her have 10 kids.. but I've sort of.. not gotten that done. Yet. So, here are a few pictures of the kids.. mostly just birth and transition shots. First up are the twins. Winston and Lizzie as toddlers.
The twins were followed by another little boy. Bradley.
And the twins as children. They look very similar. Winston has black hair and Lizzie has brown. And they're both pretty mean.. so they're hilarious to watch interact with other sims (especially each other).
And Bradley as a toddler.
I didn't know more than one sim could play with a toddler like this! So, here are Winston, Lizzie and Bradley, all playing nicely together (for the moment).
And the fourth (and final, for the moment) child, Zachary! I hadn't been paying much attention when I picked his name. Because of.. either Cecily's father or grandfather, the family last name became Taylor. It wasn't until later I realized that this little guy's full name was Zachary Taylor. Maybe little Zachary here will have a future in Politics, eh? ;D
But. Back over to the main Legacy house. Here is a shot of our new G13 heir, Cecily's younger brother, Noah. Of course, I can never even remember his name. Because of his hair, I keep wanting to call him Shikamaru. Guess I should have named him that. XD
Noah's grandfather, husband of G11 heiress Cashlyn, this is Grayson. He's just earned $100,000! And being a Fortune sim, that gets me a point for an impossible want. Woo!

G12 husband, Vincent, ages to elder.. and gets put into the Santa clothes.
I think he looks much more dashing in this outfit, though.
G12 heiress, Ryven, also becomes an elder. She is also a Fortune sim. I am so TIRED of Fortune sims!
Cashlyn passes away at only 67. Of course she HAS to go in the bedroom, which is much to cramped to fit everyone. So the scene becomes a mass of confusion and angry stomping that they are in each other's way. And Hula Girl #1 is standing IN the wall.
Yeah, Cash, you didn't live as long as I thought you would. Shocked me too! But trust me, you passing on leaves room for more people in this house.
In the end, Cashlyn's husband Grayson and her son-in-law-turned-lover Vincent mourn alone in the bedroom. As sad as it is to see them upset, I'm also greatly relieved. Finally, all the Furiousness and anger can come to a stop! Vincent and Ryven can woohoo in luxury, without having to worry about Cashlyn racing in and screaming at Vincent for cheating on her.
Linda got pregnant somewhere in here, which I'm pretty sure she hates. She's a Fortune sim with a LTW of reaching the top of her career field (Criminal) so having to take days off for maternity leave really sucks for her. She finally goes into labor.. while her in-laws have a casual conversation about the weather over a nice dinner nearby.
And G14 arrives.. with a boy! This here is little Kerrigan. Since I ended up breaking my "firstborn as heir" rule with Noah, I've decided to take Marcie's suggestion for a new method of heir picking. Every other gender for heir. I'm going to give myself a bit of leeway for G14, though. Technically, the G13 heir was female (Cecily), so G14 should be a male heir. But Cec' went all glitchy, so her brother became heir, so the G14 heir should be female. So. Since there is room in the household for 3 kids, I'm going to give myself that many chances for a female heir (neither Noah or Linda are Family sims, and I don't want the house to be too crowded, so I don't want them to have more than 3 kids). If they have all boys, Kerrigan will be heir. And starting with G15, I'll go to a more solid male/female switch between generations.
My sims don't do much home care by themselves. They've got the money for a maid and gardener and all that, so I make them spend most of their time doing productive things like painting pictures for the darn Fortune sims to sell. But Vincent gets a painting break to enjoy the great outdoors by trimming the hedge and pulling weeds (because the gardener always shows up ONE DAY before the yard needs treatment.. so they show up, say nothing needs to be done and leave.. and then starting the next day the yard begins to look like a mess and really brings down the environment score).
Because Kerrigan was a boy and I'm trying to aim for a female heir, Linda found herself pregnant again in very short order. Meaning she got to work for only one day before being forced into maternity leave again. Poor girl. She wants to work but gets to throw up instead. Fun!
Here she is getting her first bump with kiddo numero dos. I love the looks on their faces when their bumps grow. XD
Here is a lovely profile shot in which you can see that Grayson has a really funky nose (which he has passed down, darnit). And it also makes for a nice great grandfather-great grandson shot.
The slave painters! This is what most of my sims spend their time doing (especially with so many Fortune sims) in the house. Ryven is working on Noah's heir portrait.

Noah got demoted. Stinking chance cards! He was only on the 2nd job in the Science field so he didn't get demoted much.. but still! He has a LTW to be a Mad Scientist.. he won't get there very fast if he goes backwards.
One of the random purchases sitting around the Legacy lot, bought to appease the Fortune sims of the family. The bowling lane. And I just happened to notice it being haunted (lifted and floating off the ground) by one of the many Legacy ghosts! I don't remember who's haunting it, but the visible ghost is G4 heiress Radiance (another Fortune sim.. geez).
But, we will end this update with a snapshot of the newest G14 kid. And it is... another boy! Figures, since I was complaining about having so many female heirs before! But I remembered to do the random sim thing before he was born, so little Jamie here isn't a carbon copy of his big brother Kerrigan. He's a cute little thing, but we're looking for a girl. There's one more spot open in the family, so Linda will have to get pregnant again (poor girl.. she REALLY wants to get back to work!) and try one last time for a girl. If we strike out with another boy, Kerrigan will be the lucky kid named as heir.
This will be my last update before the release of Pets. I have paid for overnight shipping on my copy, so I should get it fairly quickly. And then all my families will get to be stuffed with pets! XD I will most likely use the cheat to allow for more sims/pets in a family.. if only because I want to be able to breed puppies and kittens, and with the 10 total limit (and most of my families almost always having 8 sims in them) that wouldn't be possible. So, expect my next updates to be filled with Pet-y goodness! And be on the lookout for the introduction of a third legacy challenge family I'll be starting once Pets arrives (I might wait 'til the news rules - if there are any - are released by Pinstar.. unless it looks like it will take ages, then I may just start the family and play them my way until the rules do come out).
